Application Description:  
Accurate speed control for conveyor line moving automotive parts.    

Challenge:
An automotive production line integrator required a motion solution that would accurately control speed on the conveyor line, and provide flexibly to switch between multiple ethernet protocol communications for global applications. EtherNet/IP and PROFINET were needed to connect to Rockwell Automation and Siemens PLCs. A servo motor design with an integrated drive on board was requested to reduce cabinet space and wiring.   

Tolomatic Solution:
Tolomatic utilized the ACSI integrated servo motor/drive/controller for this application. In addition to eliminating cabinet space, the ACSI’s dual Ethernet ports with M12 connectors allowed the drives to be easily daisy-chained together using industry standard cables for reduced wiring. The ACSI accommodated both Ethernet/IP and PROFINET protocols for communication with the OEM’s PLCs of choice. As a Rockwell Automation Encompass Partner, Tolomatic was able to provide keyed EDS files built into the Add-On Profiles (AOP) as well as Add-On-Instructions (AOI) for easy EtherNet/IP integration. Working directly with Siemen’s, Tolomatic was able to build function blocks for PROFINET for quick and easy integration.
